Question: Nepotism in the creative industries - 

Are nepo babies actually talented and deserve to be in the industry or does their fame just come from their parents?


How does nepotism effect the creative industries?

Nepotism is something that i personally believe is an issue in the creative industries that gives an unfair advantage to people in the industry, even if they deserve the fame. 

What is Nepotism? Well, nepotism by definition is 'the unfair use of power or influence to get good jobs or other benefits for for your family or friends.'

Tuesday 16th April Today was the first day back for me as i wasn't able to come in the Monday, so i started the day with my auditions for the end of year show! I was nervous when i first came into college but i went over my monologue a few times and i felt confident enough for my audition. I feel like it went quite well and it is a piece i enjoy performing so i will definitely keep it for future references. After the auditions, i joined the rest of the class and we started doing a read through of the two plays! We all sat in a big circle and people stood up in the centre to read in for different characters. Monday 9th September  Today was our first official day back at college and our chance to start officially working with our new first years. We started the year as usual by an introduction to some acting techniques and the Ghost light tours. Improvisation The first half of the morning consisted of getting us back into the rhythm of acting and out of our own headspace, as that is key to being a good actor. We did this by focusing on improvisation. We started with some warm up games we have done before, such as 'What are you doing?' and 'Yes, Lets' which got everyone comfortable in the space and provided an introduction to the day.
